The Worst Humanitarian Disaster in History Is Playing Out Right Now in Africa.
Well, how about you prove that by helping the hundreds of thousands of people, mostly women and children, that are dying in Kenya right now. While you order take out pizza's for your fans standing in longs lines to see your shows, there are more pressing issues that you could make a REAL difference to and for! Imagine, if Mother Monster actually embraced her Mother role and stepped in and spoke at the UN or even flew to Kenya with her entourage. I am betting this story would get world wide attention and this "worst humanitarian disaster in history" would be put to an end.
It is interesting to me that the Holy Father's intentions for July 2011 are for those who are dying and suffering materially and spiritually from AIDs especially those in impoverished countries. Well, Africa fits this description and they have never been in more need for our prayerful intercession.
For those of you who were unaware of what is going on in Africa, let me clue you in. you know that right now, there is a draught in the Somalia region that has required it's people to become refugees seeking shelter and food in Kenya but that a radical Islamist group has been killing any persons trying to bring in humanitarian aid to the region? The Wall Street Journal is calling this the worst humanitarian disaster in history. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303812104576440263431928054.html?mod=wsj_share_facebook
The Wall Street Journal gave 3 tiny paragraphs to this story. I have heard nothing on the news. Why is this such a horrific disaster? Well the drought has caused fires to kill everything in it's wake and the families that can, are fleeing to refugee camps that have nothing to give them.
Why? Because any aid that is sent there is intercepted by a radical Islamist group who takes the money and kills the persons trying to bring in the aid. For a religion of Peace, this hardly seems to be something peaceful. Just read this segment below:
"Many of the families are walking for days in search of food in a triangle of hunger where the borders of Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia meet. Hundreds already have died, and images of children with skinny, malnourished bodies are becoming commonplace in this corner of Africa. Even Somalia's top militant group is asking the aid agencies it once banned from its territories to return. Thirsty livestock are dying by the thousands, and food prices have risen beyond what many families can afford. Hawo Ibrahim said she and her seven children trekked 15 days from a town in southern Somalia before reaching a refugee camp in northeast Kenya.

UN demands safe food aid to Somalis as rebels lift ban on aid
What the Wall Street Journal "did" say is that malnourished young children are dying after trekking for weeks to receive emergency aid that is not being able to be made available to them. 1,300 people A DAY arrive in Kenya's Dadaab refugee camp. The international agencies have not been able to provide aid in Samalia however, because of hositility frm an Islamist rebel group that controls much of the entire country! There are over 378,000,000 people dying in this refugee camp. Why is this not bigger news!
The United Nations is urging the Somali-based militant group al-Shabaab to pledge it won’t attack humanitarian aid workers so that millions of famished Somalis can be rescued. Mark Bowden, the UN aid coordinator for Somalia, said Thursday he welcomes al-Shabaab’s decision to reopen areas of Somalia under its control to humanitarian aid workers, but they “need guarantees” they won’t be targeted or their agencies taxed. Bowden said millions of Somalis, particularly in the south, are severely hungry due to extreme violence and drought."(from http://www.todayszaman.com/news-249904-un-appeals-to-fight-drought-as-hunger-batters-e-africa.html)
Is it true? Would those of the Muslim faith prevent aid to people who clearly would die and suffer greatly without humanitarian aid?
Yes, they would. Why? Because Muslims are not commanded to assist non-Muslims. To do so is a waste of money, because they are going to Hell anyway. The Quran and Hadith command that money flow either between Muslims or from non-Muslims to Muslims (the jizya in Quran 9:29).
Neither has the Islamic community ever been particularly keen on disaster relief, even for Muslim victims. This is because the Quran teaches that the disasters which befall communities are a punishment from Allah.
Those who are blessed by Allah insult Allah by giving away their "gifts" to those whom Allah has not favored:
Quran (16:71) - "Allah has bestowed His gifts of sustenance more freely on some of you than on others: those more favoured are not going to throw back their gifts to those whom their right hands possess, so as to be equal in that respect. Will they then deny the favours of Allah?"
Charity to non-Muslims? No. Muslims are told that non-believers are the "vilest of animals" and commanded to be ruthless toward them:
Quran (8:55) - "Surely the vilest of animals in Allah's sight are those who disbelieve"
Quran (48:29) - Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are hard (ruthless) against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves
If there is anything you can do to spread this word, to find a way to help in this severe and horrific tragedy playing out in Africa I beg of you to give them a voice. Minimally, pray for Our Lady of Guadalupe to protect and bring aid to the suffering little ones in Africa and all of the world. Perhaps their plight will be ours soon enough. Maybe write a letter to your congressmen or to a celebrity so that someone starts paying attention. These are our brothers and sisters in Christ and when we do for the least of men we do for Christ.
